Our team consist of personable, savvy and experienced business advisor accountants and educators who provide advice based on real life numbers, your current situation and your future goals. We are empathetic to the challenges business owners face and the inevitable fear and uncertainty that comes with the ebbs and flows of business. We are on hand to provide reassurance and action plans for those short on time to minimize the rollercoasters.
SP Solutions is founded by passionate entrepreneur, Sam Polimeni who has over 25 years experience in growing successful businesses. Sam has worked hard to gather an incredible team of passionate and talented business advisor accountants. The dedicated team of experienced professionals take pride in knowing client’s businesses inside and out.
Sam Polimeni, CPA
Over the past 25 years, I have been advising clients on how to grow their businesses and their wealth. I have seen clients take my advice and develop multi-million dollar businesses and wealth. I have also seen clients struggle. This is what motivated me to develop a 7 Workshop series designed to improve the profitability, cash flow and growth of my client’s businesses and then show them how to use the business cash flow to create wealth.
My goals are to inspire, educate and challenge business owners to develop the best business they can. We achieve this by giving them the right tools, information and encouragement, to create the best outcome and achieve their goals. My belief is “Your Success Starts with the Right Advice”. I specialise in business and wealth strategies, business workshops and seminars, property tax, business taxation & advisory, business exit strategies and SMSF strategies. I’m married with three children and enjoy reading, going to the footy, watching kids play sport, travelling and cooking.
My accountancy career began in 1990 after finishing my Administration and Secretarial Diploma. I worked in a two partner firm in Epping as the reception/secretary for 10 years before co-founding SP Solutions with my husband Sam in 2002. Starting our own accounting and financial planning practice in Balwyn North came with its challenges but has been the most rewarding business, especially watching our clients grow with us. We have three children that keep me busy. We love to head to our beach house over the weekend with the family. Travel is a must in the Polimeni household; I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and interior decorating.
Sebastian Caruso, CPA
I have worked for SP Solutions since 2009 and became partner in June 2019. I am passionate about continually assisting business owners to create personal and financial wealth by removing their barriers to business success. I enjoy helping our clients understand their personal vision and help them set the plan to achieve it.
With a particular focus on trades, services and manufacturing businesses, myself and the team behind me really enjoy helping our clients in any way we can. This includes everyday tax compliance and business services, tax planning advice, offering small business growth workshops to property tax and development advice.
I am a member of the CPA and have strong affiliations with Master Plumbers Victoria and the NECA Association. When I’m not working on your business, you’ll find me indulging in my passion of sport, which includes footy, cricket and soccer.
Simon Read, CA
After more than a decade working with SME’s in tax, audit and advisory roles, I joined SP Solutions in 2011 as the firm’s Business Manager. Responsible for all aspects of the accounting and financial planning practices, the role allows me to experience first-hand the varied day to day issues that business owners face. This includes finance, workforce planning, systems & processes, sales & marketing, strategic planning and human resources.
In 2016 I transitioned back into a client relationship role, using the breadth of tax and accounting experience gained in my early career with business management insight from my most recent role. It has been during this period where I have had the benefit of working closely with Sam to expand on my property knowledge. This combination of experience has provided me with a greater appreciation of the many challenges small business owners face, not just tax and accounting. As a result my team and I strive to provide a level of service to our clients to reduce as much of the stress of running a small business. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and heading to the football to cheer on Essendon.
Kate James, CA
I joined SP Solutions in 2017 as a Chartered Accountant. As Practice Manager, I’m responsible for the management of all aspects of the business including financial, workforce planning, system and processes, strategic planning and human resources. I hold a Bachelor of Business from RMIT and a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and going to the beach.
Paul Moschetti, CA
Senior Consultant - Tax
I’ve worked for SP Solutions for over 14 years and completed a Masters Degree in Taxation. I have over 20 years of experience in public practice accounting and I’m a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. I specialise in complex areas of tax including small business concessions, property transactions, business acquisition and disposal, restructuring, corporate tax, and many others. I strive to do an exceptional job for everyone I meet, I support the team in technical areas of business services and tax, and ensure that the team exceeds the quality standards required and expected of a CPA firm.
Marc Papazzo, CA
I joined the team at SP Solutions in 2012, where I have since built upon my extensive knowledge of taxation and business in the public practice sector. As a consultant in our taxation division, I provide advice in a wide range of tax areas to both businesses and individuals. I assist with the preparation of financial reporting, internal accounting along with numerous other tax advisory matters.
I encourage our clients to establish business, financial and personal goals helping them to develop and implement strategies to ensure success. It’s my passion to see clients succeed and obtain the outcomes that they desire. When I’m not working you can always find me playing either soccer or a round of golf.
Daniel Izzo, CPA
I’ve been part of the SP Solutions team since September 2011. I have a keen interest in technology and I may be one of the only people you’ll meet that runs a Xero file for their own life. I’m proud of the team we’ve built at SP Solutions and the passion we all share across the business. My philosophy with clients is simply to educate and to take care of the accounting aspects so they can focus on their business and personal goals. When I’m away from the screen, you will most likely find me working on a project around the house with my wife.
Manager - Business Advisory
I joined SP Solutions in 2013, I focus on providing our clients with a full range of business advisory services. I’ve helped clients with various business challenges and I believe that data and technology are the key to making smart business decisions. The team and I are committed to providing robust data-driven tools and solutions to clients’ needs and leveraging technology to drive outcomes. I enjoy solving problems and always look for opportunities to learn. On weekends I often volunteer for local charities or explore Melbourne with my husband.
Accountant - Business Advisory
I joined SP Solutions in 2017 as a Graduate Accountant with a Bachelor of Accounting and a Bachelor of Economics degree. I’ve primarily worked in business advisory and understand the importance of small businesses receiving the right advice as I come from a family who has run a small business for over 24 years. When I am not at work you’ll find me playing various sports and cheering on the mighty Tigers.
I joined SP Solutions in 2018 after completing a Bachelor of Business at RMIT. During my time at SP Solutions, I’ve gained valuable knowledge and experience in the accounting industry. I’ve completed my CPA studies and hope to become a Certified Practising Accountant in the near future. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and watching the Bombers.
I joined SP Solutions in 2017 as a Graduate Accountant after completing a Bachelor of Business in Accounting. I’m involved with Tax Planning, Tax Compliance for Companies, Trusts and Partnerships. I aspire to attain further professional qualifications to enhance my accounting skills. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family outdoors.
I joined the team at SP Solutions in 2018 and I am a Graduate Accountant from RMIT with a Bachelor of Business. Eager to expand my knowledge and expertise, I intend to conduct further studies and gain a CA qualification. I love watching sport and spending time with family and friends.
I joined SP Solutions in 2021 after graduating from RMIT University with a double degree in Accounting & Financial Planning. Commencing my CA studies is the next goal, as I hope to build on my accounting knowledge. I previously worked across several hospitality businesses which ignited my passion for business and client services. Outside of work I enjoy watching football and cricket.
I joined the SP Solutions team in early 2021. I am a graduate of La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting. I will commence my CA studies in the near future to further my knowledge and experience within the industry. I have experience working as a bookkeeper for a small firm. Outside of work I’m a very keen traveller and dedicated supporter of the mighty Tigers.
I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and am currently working towards my Chartered Accountants certification. I developed my interest in accounting while working at the Australian Taxation Office, where I gained a wealth of knowledge in tax-related matters. I’m keen to apply this knowledge and my problem-solving skills to achieve the best outcome for clients. Outside of work I enjoy entertaining and getting outdoors.
I joined SP Solutions in 2021 after graduating from The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. I have a strong work ethic and enjoy tackling any challenges thrown my way. I’m working towards my CPA and hope to expand my accounting and taxation knowledge. I also run my own wedding photography business on weekends which has helped me understand the challenges small businesses face. Outside of work you’ll find me spending time with the family.
Bookkeeper / Accountant
I joined SP Solutions as a graduate Accountant in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce. I started as a Tax Accountant and enjoyed the exposure to the different types of clients and businesses. Seeing clients succeed has always given me great satisfaction. These days, I work part-time work as an Internal Accountant/Bookkeeper alongside raising my 3 children. My favourite pastimes include travelling with my family, shopping and baking!
Corporate Secretarial Officer
I joined SP Solutions in 2007 as the Corporate Secretarial Officer. I have 22 years of experience in public practice accounting which began with office administration. I worked in the corporate world multiple times in between growing my family and outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I’ve been a part of the SP Solutions team since 2015, bringing 18 years of reception experience to my role. When I am not at work, I work as a Remedial Massage Therapist.
I was thrilled to rejoin the SP Solutions team in early 2020 after taking a decade off work to start a family. My responsibilities include reception duties and administration support. Its been great reconnecting with the team, clients and getting to know new ones. When I am not at work I love spending time with my family and friends.
